Eating on the Road

Eating healthy on the road is always challenging. Any time I look for food along a major highway or Interstate, the options are typically limited to the same places and types of food, like pizza, McDonalds, and Roy Rogers. Finding low calorie food is pretty difficult; finding healthy food is next to impossible. Even Subway is high in calories for most 6″ subs and all foot longs.

Your best bet when going on a road trip is to pack some food before you head out. Take some fruit that’s easy to eat on the road (so not a pineapple or watermelon).  Try apples, oranges, grapes, or nectarines. Pack or buy a sandwich or something else healthy that you will actually enjoy eating later. This will save you from grabbing a Big Mac and Medium Fries which pack a whopping 910 calories and 1,230mg of sodium(salt), (and that’s before you add the ketchup – 10 calories and 100mg of sodium per packet!) Considering that you should only consume about 2,000 to 2,500 calories and 1,300 to 2,500mg of sodium a day, that Big Mac and fries really hit cartoon porn you hard.

The Obesity Epidemic

An annual report released on Thursday by the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) found that adult obesity rates black porn did not decrease in any state this year.  In fact, they actually increased in 16 states.  Twelve states now have obesity rates above 30 percent.  Even more shocking were the increases in obesity rates seen by many states since 1995.  According to the report, obesity rates have doubled in seven states and increased by at least 90 percent in 10 others.  This shocking data demonstrates the need for nutrition and fitness programs in America.  The full report with state rankings in all categories is available on RWJF’s website.

If you can’t do it for the rest of your life, it isn’t going to work

When it comes to diet and exercise, if you can’t do it for the rest of your life, it isn’t going to work. This should make sense. If you start a restrictive diet to lose weight, get down to a weight you are happy with, but then go back to eating the same type and quantity of food you used to, you will gain weight again. Also, if you go to the gym, but hate what you’re doing there, you aren’t going to keep going (and you’re probably going to be pretty lazy about what you do while you are there).

The way you lose or gain weight is pretty simple. If you consume more calories a day than you burn, you’ll gain weight. If you consume fewer calories a day than you burn, you’ll lose weight. It’s really that simple. You don’t need a restrictive mobile porn diet, extreme exercise, or diet pills – just focus on (1) calories, (2) cardio, and (3) strength training.
